Dr. Murray Heber

Murray had a passion for sport early on and aspired to be an Olympian. Unfortunately, a preventable injury forced him to leave his sport and he’s been on a quest ever since to support athletes in achieving their highest level of human performance.

He was an incredibly decorated track and field athlete. He was named MVP every year since he was 14 years old. While attending the University of Alberta, Murray was named the top male athlete in the entire university, having won the national championship, and set a national record. His presence and performance were impressive. When injury struck, Murray left the sport of track and field and decided to enter the field of strength and conditioning on a quest to solve the problem of human performance. He then realized he needed to get hands on to open things up for clients and allow optimal movement.

The next step was Chiropractic. Murray was the 2nd youngest in his class and graduated with the 2nd highest grade in Chiropractic school. His brilliance was coming to life again. All the while, Murray was asked to complete on the Canadian Olympic bobsled team. He was struck with a concussion during a race and after he was forced to jump back in the sled to compete, with a duct taped helmet, he knew it was time to use his gifts to really make an impact, off the track.

Murray created the concussion protocols for the Canadian Bobsled team, determined to save other athletes from lifelong injury. He worked with the bobsled team for 14 years and attended many Olympics with them to support the team in achieving their goals. Murray was known as the calm and comforting presence at the starting line. Just having him there eased the athletes and made a huge impact. He went from Bobsleigh to supporting the Paralympic teams to going into the NHL bubble to treat players and keep them healthy and performing optimally during a very compromising time. All the while, Murray also opened his own private clinic in Calgary treating local athletes, clients that came through town, and the general population. It was a well-respected and valued facility and where Murray made a huge impact on the community. Clients still talk about his window drawings of his thought analogies that helped transform their lives.

Now… Murray’s journey is to take all his knowledge, his hands-on skills, his understandings of the physiological and nervous systems, and bring all of that to a broader audience. He truly believes that we can all help ourselves reach our optimal performance with the right guidance. Like colours, there are a myriad of ways the human body can move and when we look at it from an observer’s point of view, it can be overwhelming.  When we break down all the possible colours in the world, they all stem from three primary ones.  Once an artist can understand how the interaction of these primary colours can be manipulated to form the complexity, we see in art it takes something so broad and vast and makes it simple.  That’s how Murray sees human movement. And that’s what he intends to bring to all humans everywhere. An opportunity to elevate our own performance.
